Boireann Lacima Barbera 2015

Raspberry and cherry on the nose with some oak. Dark fruit on the palate, with moderate tannin and a bold body. Bigger than other barberas, but interesting!

Boireann Lacima Nebbiolo 2014

Dark garnet, good floral nose, raspberries and a little liquorice. Riper cherries than an Italian nebbiolo, but a good finish, high acid, great with food. Good showing from Queensland region, Australia.

Boireann Lurnea 2014

Almost inky. Purple-red. Dark berries, chocolate, hints of tar. Soft and smooth. Pine, red fruits, vanilla very aromatic. Light bodied and well balanced and integrated. A little chocolate on the aftertaste. And it's from Queensland!

Boireann Shiraz SZ 2015

Scarlet and ruby red. Lovely opening with raspberry, blackberry and delicate rose. White pepper proceeds the palate to medium-bodied aromatics and a subtle oak integration (33% new). Tensive but charming tannin structure with a youthfully-lengthy finish. Best paired with charred or roasted red meats.

Chris Ringland Maker Edition Barossa Shiraz Parcel # 3Bottle # 0543 2017

Great wine pepper plum and berry undertones. Smooth and very drinkable but let it breathe a bit in the decanter.

OceanView Cabernet 2014

This is a rich, glass staining, rack dried, Cabinet Sauvignon, from a small family winery about one hour north of Brisbane.

Pepperjack Shiraz 2013

Fun and fruity. Red fruits aromas and a berry taste. Unexpectedly light and actually highly sessionable. Very nice ruby colour. A Christmas party in a glass.

Pepperjack Shiraz 2016

Blackberries and spice. Really liked this and great value.

Pepperjack Shiraz 2017

Savoury blueberry jam. Mild fizz. A little bit heavy, but given the name, it’s surprisingly drinkable.

Pyramids Road Mourvedre 2010

Beautiful vibrant purple in colour. Medium intensity nose of blue and black berries, with vanilla, clove and husk elements from American and French Oak. Palate is lively - blackberry, black cherry, spicy, almost anise. Tannins are long and chalky. Medium+ acid/body/alcohol and finish. Good wine.

Savoury but not too heavy, perfect for even a Merlot drinker.

Pyramids Road Mourvedre 2014

Black berry, oak, dark chocolate, eucalyptus / menthol. Great mouth feel, plenty of fruit forward flavour. Bit of tannin grip still present. Perfect drinking now, maybe another 12-18 months.

Pyramids Road Petit Verdot 2017

Very youthful as it was just bottled before it was given to me. Intense, inky purple-ruby colour. Black cherry and black plum, violet, coriander and a touch of bell pepper on the nose. Firm grippy, youthful tannins, full bodied, with more black fruit flavours, and added cocoa, vanilla and coffee finish. Gutsy and lots of structure as you'd expect from a Petit Verdot, but nicely balanced with the fruit and acidity. Definitely a food wine paired with roast meats or strong, hard cheese. Otherwise cellar.
