Pyramids Road Petit Verdot 2018

Very youthful as it was just bottled before it was given to me. Intense, inky purple-ruby colour. Black cherry and black plum, violet, coriander and a touch of bell pepper on the nose.

Pyramids Road Shiraz 2014

Medium dark maroon. Dark fruit, spice - cardamom, white pepper. Dark chocolate and salty licorice in the mouth. Acid still evident, fading tannins.Again, no notes. Acid and tannin has carried this through wonderfully. Plenty of length and beautiful secondaries evident.

Pyramids Road Shiraz 2014

This wine is hand plunged in open fermenters before being basket pressed and racked into barrels to complete the malolactic fermentation. An elegant Shiraz showing distinct varietal plum and spice characters with 12 months maturation in a mix of American and French.

Pyramids Road Shiraz 2015

Medium dark maroon. Dark fruit, spice - cardamom, white pepper. Dark chocolate and salty licorice in the mouth. Acid still evident, fading tannins. Dark fruits. Not long enough with too strong borderline licorice.

Symphony Hill Barossa Shiraz 2016

Deep maroon with lots of legs; blueberries, dark berries and mocha on the nose; tight tart palate with white pepper; overpriced +++; dry raspy tannins

Symphony Hill Danying Cabernet 2014

Hints of mint and eucalyptus on the nose. Palate is ripe blackfruit with a touch of red currant, and an afterthought of eucalyptus

Symphony Hill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Fantastic, beautifully balanced and a pleasure to drink.

Symphony Hill Reserve Lagrein 2014

No rough edges on this. Its silky smooth, dry and quite light on the palate but not short of flavour. Plum and Asian spices on the nose. Mulberry, liquorice and red berry fruit on the palate which lingers. It is well balanced and leaves the mouth fresh and clean.

Symphony Hill Reserve Lagrein 2015

Love this wine, complex balance achieved. This has retained its lovely smooth velvety palate; paired with slow-cooked leg of pork

Symphony Hill Reserve Lagrein 2016

Deep dark and mysterious with purple tones; black currant and green stem aromas; blackberries, blackcurrants and brambles dominate the palate with dry, very dark chocolate flavours; tannins are dry and powdery, acids are also out of balance; an over priced wine valued at $95 ($65 in our biannual pack)

Symphony Hill Reserve Montepulciano 2017

Deep deep dark burgundy in colour with good legs; bouquet of dark chocolate, cigars and spicy dark plums; bitter dark chocolate, tart cherries, blackberries and yellow stonefruit on the palate; tight tart grippy tannins and medium to high acidity; could cellar for another 10 years plus; organic; paired with BBQ steak, mushrooms and vine tomatoes

Symphony Hill Reserve Nebbiolo 2014

Bright cherry colour with a touch of orange around the edges; spicy cherry cordial on the nose with some floral notes; intense raspberry and cherry fruit flavours; a touch acidic but soft tannins give it a pleasant finish. A well balanced elegant wine reminiscent of a Pinot noir

Symphony Hill Reserve Sangiovese 2016

Beautiful wine notes of cerry and fig’s Nice and dry on the pallet

Symphony Hill Reserve Saperavi 2016

Boom, boom 15.5% a/bv shook the room. First go at this variety and was expecting a light bodied wine. Instead dense and rich blackberries with spice.
Very surprising. Good drop. Smooth yet full bodied, without being over powering.

Symphony Hill Reserve Shiraz 2012

A brilliant wine made by an amazing winemaker - Mike Hayes. This wine will not disappoint. This wine is one of the best Granite Belt Shiraz’s you will taste, but I would agree with previous comments about it lacking depth.

Symphony Hill Reserve Shiraz 2014

Possesses a semblance of fruit. It's nicely medium bodied, in a regional style.

Symphony Hill Reserve Shiraz 2015

Deep plum in colour, almost purple; hints of mocha and subtle spiced berries; the palate is more forward with yellow-fleshed plums, and silky minty tannins. A good example of Granite Belt Shiraz, this has a few more years cellaring potential.

Symphony Hill Rreserve Tannat 2016

Deep rich crimson and long legs; aromas of warm mulberry pie and cocoa; spiced plums dominate the palate; chalky tannins and a hint of liquorice to finish with; enjoyed with spicy slow-cooked chicken

Symphony Hill Shiraz Viognier 2013

Silky, a good blend. Like the Symphony Hill wines, but they are a notch more expensive than their Granite Belt cousins.Blackberry, pepper, soft tannins.
